This week has been all about albums. Beautiful albums have been leaving the studio, wrapped and ready for their owners. I am really passionate about offering albums to my clients, as I think they are a great investment for future years, when children and grandchildren will get as much reward from looking at those images as the bride and groom themselves. One of my favourite tasks is to design the album, and I love the responsibility that it brings.
Every single day I think myself lucky to be where I am in life. I am able to be with a couple on one of the happiest days of their lives; I get to create something beautiful for them to love more and more as years go by. Those pictures and prints will be displayed on the walls and in the albums of people who I don’t even know. My work is in their home and loved. In a way, I am making a positive difference to the world. I want to bottle the feeling that gives me.
I have another six weddings to photograph before the end of my season, and I am excited about every single one. They will have a very different vibe to my beautiful summer weddings, with bare arms and legs being swapped for fur coats and cosiness. Bring on the mulled wine and mince pies.
The image above makes me think of this.
