~ a little polaroid love ~

It’s been a busy few weeks, with my first wedding of the year, a wedding fair and getting all my new samples in order.  I am also in the process of moving home, which although stressful, is also very exciting as the new house will allow me to have a separate, dedicated client space.  This will allow me to have all my sample albums and prints on show, giving the client the opportunity to choose from a range of different products to showcase their beautiful pictures.  The space will be the first project, so I hope to have images of the studio up on the blog within the coming summer.

It’s also been very busy with bookings for 2011.  A reputable wedding photographer will only photograph one wedding per day, so it’s essential to book well in advance if photography is an important aspect of the day, which it seems to be for most of my clients.  August 2011 sees me photographing my first wedding in Spain, and I’m really looking forward to all that beautiful natural light.

I thought I would give the blog a little film love, so here are various pictures using my precious Polaroid film over the last couple of years…

  1. Trafalgar Square ~ one of my favourite places in London to sit and watch the crowds go by.
  2. Greg and his Oreo milkshake on a trip to New York.
  3. My sister’s Brooklyn brownstone apartment.
  4. Coney Island, NY.  When I went a few years ago, it was untouched since the 1950s.  There is a restoration going on at the moment, I believe, but it’s well worth a visit come rain or shine.  Just a $2.25 trip on the subway.
  5. Shopping in Brooklyn.
  6. As big fans of vintage, we recently had a little gathering of friends and the theme was Mad Men.  From the outfits right down to the cocktail list (Snowballs and Tom Collins), retro was the name of the game.  Couldn’t this picture be straight out of 1963??

    Hi Jodie,

I used to follow your old blog, Vintage Film, when I lived in Manchester and wondered where you had gone. I just discovered this site yesterday and wanted to say congratulations on your budding career! It is always inspiring to see someone pursue their passions and succeed so beautifully. Best, Janice

  • This makes me want to buy a polaroid camera! Maybe I will have to look into one just for fun x
